Black Marriage Day began with the passion to spread a positive message of love & commitment in the African American community. This special day was recognized in just 30 cities when it began in 2003, and it has now spread to more than 300 communities across the country! We invite you to join us in celebrating marriage and couples that have stood together through the tough times and have become inspirational models to you and our communities.
Couples will share challenges they have endured in their relationships and how they have overcome and used the hard times to strengthen their connection and commitment to one another.
So, Just What Is Black Marriage Day DC?
A 2 day Weekend Event celebrating and lifting up love, commitment and marriage. This is an opportunity to focus on your relationship and affirm your commitment to strong marriages in the African American community.
Day 1- Couples Master Class /Sat., April 1st 10am-3pm
A fun hands on interactive Master Class for couples designed to strengthen communication and increase intimacy. (Lunch Included/Location: 3845 South Capitol Street, SW Wash, DC 20032)
Day 2- Signature Date Night! / Sun., April 2nd 6pm-9pm
An intimate elegant evening of music, creativity & courageous stories from real couples who've chosen commitment & love in spite of the challenges! (Location: US Navy Memorial Museum 701 Pennsylvania Ave.,NW Wash, DC 20004)

Q: What are the parking options at the events?
A: Couples Master Class Parking- There is free lot parking as well as free street parking. Signature Date Night Parking-There is meter parking around the venue that is free on Sundays. There is also parking in the PMI garage at D & 8th Street that can be validated at our event for $8.00.
Q: Are the events metro accessible?
A: Couples Master Class- The closest metro stop is the Anacostia stop.You will have to take a short bus or cab ride from there (approx. 5 min.). Signature Date Night- Yes the event location is metro accessible. Take the yellow/green line to Archives/Navy Memorial stop. Once you exit the station the Navy Memorial Museum is to your right.

A: While this event is geared toward couples; this event is for any adult interested in being inspired and learning what it takes to create strong committed love relationships.

A: Yes, Black Marriage Day falls on March 26th this year. However, due to extenuating circumstances we will be hosting Black Marriage Day DC: The Weekend Experience on April 1st & 2nd this year.

They are the founders of B Intentional, LLC, a multifaceted relationship education and personal development company that focuses on providing Marriage & Relationship education through counseling ,coaching, workshops, retreats and multi-media creative productions. While trained clinicians and licensed psycho-therapists they credit their relationship success and that of their clients to the fact that they are walking the walk every day and therefore know first hand the challenges and celebrations that go along with being in a committed relationship.
